2024-2028 Office of Response and Restoration Strategic Plan Released
FEB. 20, 2024 — On February 16, the Office of Response and Restoration (OR&R) released its Strategic Plan for 2024-2028.
Over the next five years, OR&R will be guided by four goals in the Strategic Plan:
- meet the changing demands on our mission in the face of coastal change;
- deliver services in an equitable manner for the diverse populations we serve;
- strengthen our communications with cohesion that integrates our mandates to address these demands; and,
- develop our skilled, diverse, and inclusive workforce to deliver our mission and sustain our core capabilities.
OR&R remains committed to working towards a future where the nation’s ocean, coasts, and communities are resilient and protected from environmental threats, such as oil, chemicals, marine debris, and disasters. Through this new Strategic Plan, OR&R will adapt to increasing demands and the profound effects of climate change while maintaining its mission to protect and restore ocean and coastal resources. The next five years demand a continued adaptation to apply OR&R’s expertise and mandates to emerging challenges and the changing nature of coastal threats and hazards.
